As Celtics fans are already looking ahead to the playoffs to begin their title defense, some former Celtics are getting ready for their post-playing careers. Blake Griffin, who finished his illustrious career in Boston, is starting a new job in the media with the 2025-26 season.

Amazon Prime, which is beginning an 11-year, $20 billion partnership with the NBA for broadcasting rights, has exciting plans for its studio coverage. Per The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, it includes Blake Griffin and Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki.

"Amazon Prime Video’s inaugural NBA studio coverage will feature former NBA stars Dirk Nowitzki and Blake Griffin, according to sources briefed on the streamer’s plans. Amazon signed Griffin and Nowitzki to join host Taylor Rooks when the platform begins its NBA package later this calendar year."

Griffin retired from basketball after the 2022-23 season and kept a low profile since. This deal marks his return to the spotlight.

The 35-year-old former star has been performing in open mics and appearing in various podcasts and YouTube shows since his retirement. His sense of humor and charisma could make him a compelling basketball analyst.

In his prime, Griffin was one of the most entertaining players to watch. His athleticism and high-flying play style made him a must-watch, especially during his Clippers days. He was a force to be reckoned with even after his athleticism dwindled, carrying the Pistons to the playoffs and playing a big part in Brooklyn's postseason run.

His Celtics days didn't go according to the plan. Griffin didn't get the chance he had in mind in Boston, playing a very small role on the deep and talented Celtics team that lost to the Heat in the conference finals.

The NBA is entering a new era of broadcasting starting next season. ESPN will be joined by Amazon and NBC in exclusive streaming rights for games, marking the end of an era with TNT. Whether Blake Griffin can carve out a role for himself as the new face of NBA studio shows in this new era remains to be seen.
