Today’s Celtics Spread

You can bet on the Celtics to cover the spread throughout the entire 2024-25 NBA season as they look to repeat as champions.

This section will be updated with the points spread for the Celtics’ next game as it becomes available.

Celtics NBA Finals Odds

As the reigning champs, the Celtics entered the offseason as favorites to repeat with another NBA Championship in the 2024-25 season.

Those odds will fluctuate throughout the offseason (and especially as the season rolls on), and here are where things stand currently:

Celtics Player Prop Bets

Celtics player prop bets are available for betting all season. The markets will vary game-by-game, but you can bet on things like whether Jayson Tatum will score over or under a certain point total, or whether Jrue Holiday will have over or under a specific number of assists.

Other fun prop bets include betting on who will score the first basket of a game, or the number of 3-pointers certain players will knock down.

2024 Celtics Offseason Moves

The Boston Celtics have kept most of their championship roster intact. That means it’s been a quiet offseason, but a very good one.

Signing Derrick White and Jayson Tatum to long-term contract extensions was the top priority, and both of those deals are done.

Additions: Baylor Scheierman, Tristan Enaruna, Ron Harper

Departures: Oshae Brissett, Svi Mykhaliuk

How to Bet on the Celtics

The legalization of sports betting in Massachusetts has made it easy for Celtics fans to bet on their team in a wide variety of ways.

You could bet on the Celtics to win or cover the spread. Or you could bet on specific game props, like the total points scored, player props and more, including same-game parlays!

Below we’ll break down the most common ways that you can wager on the Celtics (and any other NBA teams).

Moneyline

Betting on the moneyline is one of the most basic ways to bet because you’re simply betting on a team to win a game.

This might not be very appealing to Celtics fans since your team is typically a big favorite in most games it plays.

For instance, if you bet on Boston as -200 favorites, you would need to wager $200 to win $100 if they win the game.

If Boston is a +200 underdog, you’d win two-times your investment. If you bet $100 on the Celtics at those odds and they win, you’d win $200. Of course, the C’s won’t be +200 underdogs very often.

Point Spread

Betting on the point spread may be more enticing to Celtics fans, especially if your team is favored.

The point spread levels the odds, but your team (if favored) must win by a specific amount of points.

For instance, if the Celtics are -8.5 points on the spread against the Heat, Boston would need to win by at least 9 points to cover the spread.

If the Celtics are underdogs, listed at +3.5 points on the spread, they could cover the spread by winning OR by losing by 3 or fewer points.

You typically get -110 odds (or close to it) on both sides of the spread, making the payouts more even than you’ll get with a more lopsided moneyline.

Point Totals (Over/Under)

Another way to wager on basketball is by betting on the total combined points scored between both teams in a game.

You’ll see the total points typically in the 200-220 point range.

For instance, if you bet over the total points in a Celtics vs. Heat game at 208.5 points, you would need both teams to combine for at least 209 points to win. A score of 109-100 would hit the over.

Team & Player Props and Futures

Some of the most fun you’ll have betting on your favorite teams is by betting on props, which allow you to bet on specific outcomes for teams and individual players.

Team props include betting on how many points each individual team will score, which team will win a quarter or a half and more.

Player props are a bit more in-depth. You can bet on almost anything any player does on the court, including how many points/assists/rebounds/steals/blocks a player will have, which player will score the first basket and much more.

For instance, you could bet on Jayson Tatum to score over 25.5 points or take Jrue Holiday to record over 8.5 assists.

Futures bets are wager for more patient sports bettors. These bets typically don’t finish until the season is over.

You could bet on the Celtics to win the Eastern Conference or win the NBA Finals or even take your shot at predicting who will win the NBA MVP award!

TD Garden

The TD Garden is the home to the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins.

Located in Boston, Massachusetts at 100 Legends Way, this arena opened in September of 1995 and has been previously named the FleetCenter and the TD Banknorth Garden.

The TD Garden has a capacity of 19,600 people and welcomes roughly 3.5 million visitors on a yearly basis – hosting other events like UFC fights, concerts, comedy shows and much more.

It’s undergone several renovations since it first opened in 1995, the most recent of which updated the audio in the arena and added a new jumbotron that has 4K resolution.
