The Boston Celtics bounced back from a two-game losing streak on Sunday to defeat the Denver Nuggets and cemented their spot as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Barring a major surprise in the last 21 games of the season, the Celtics will most likely enter the playoffs as the second seed.
With home-court advantage in the first two rounds of the playoffs essentially locked, the Celtics turned their attention to putting the final touches on their roster for the final stretch.
On Sunday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that the Celtics were signing Miles Norris to a two-way contract. The 24-year-old forward was playing for the Memphis Hustle in the G League, averaging 17.1 points on 39.3% shooting from downtown on 9.1 attempts in 30.6 minutes per game. The 6-7 wing's combination of three-point volume and accuracy seems like a good Celtics fit, at least on paper.

NBA News: Celtics Waive Rookie Anton Watson
To make room for this transaction, the Celtics waived Anton Watson. Boston had drafted Watson with the 54th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The Gonzaga product failed to make his NBA debut with the Celtics and spent most of his time in Maine playing in the G League. His shot wasn't falling there, as his shooting splits of 42.6/30.8/68.8 were likely a big factor in his release.

Norris, along with Drew Peterson and JD Davison, are on two-way contracts with the Celtics. However, Boston still has an open roster spot to fill before the playoffs. GM Brad Stevens could use that spot by giving one of the two-way players a guaranteed NBA contract or opt to bring in another veteran as a deep bench piece.
