The Boston Celtics got back in the win column with a 109-102 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, and they will look to build on that momentum on Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets. This is the first game of a four-game road trip for Boston.

This game marks the first time these two teams will go head-to-head this season. The Celtics won the season series last year, 2-1, and have had Charlotte's number for years, winning 33 of their last 40 regular-season matchups.

While the Celtics are 6-2 to begin the season, the Hornets are 3-6 and are in the midst of a five-game losing streak.

Here is the full injury report for the Celtics and Hornets ahead of Friday night's game.

  • Dillon Mitchell (two-way) - OUT

Devin Carter has been out of action since the Celtics' first preseason game due to mononucleosis. He remains out against the Hornets, but he is set to return to practice with the Celtics' G League affiliate in Maine.

Boston has also ruled out Chris Cenac Jr., Dillon Mitchell, and Amari Williams for G League assignments.

Payton Pritchard left the Celtics' game against Milwaukee early due to a right eye abrasion. He is listed as questionable against the Hornets. This season has been an up-and-down one for the Oregon native, who is averaging 13 points on 41.8/31/86.2% shooting splits.

Michael Ajayi, Kylan Boswell, and PJ Hall are all out for the Hornets due to their G League assignments.

Rookies Christian Anderson and Hannes Steinbach were each on Charlotte's injury report ahead of Friday's game, but they are each available to play.

The Hornets have listed Moussa Diabate as questionable against Boston due to right quadriceps tendinopathy. Diabate has started in all nine of Charlotte's games so far, averaging 8.9 points, 9.1 rebounds (including 5.1 offensive rebounds, which lead the NBA), 2.1 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 63.5% from the field.

Kon Knueppel, who finished second in Rookie of the Year voting last season (and maybe should have won, depending on who you ask), made his season debut for Charlotte against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday after dealing with a left hamstring strain. However, he reaggravated the injury and only played six minutes. He is out against Boston.

Former Celtics Dennis Schroder and Grant Williams are also listed on the Hornets' injury report. Schroder is listed as questionable due to left thigh soreness, whereas Williams (who has yet to make his season debut) has been ruled out due to a right hamstring strain.
