The Boston Celtics' Summer League was an overall success. Boston taking a flyer on center Charles Bassey turned out to be a great choice as he dominated in his three Las Vegas appearances before departing due to other commitments.

Meanwhile, Jordan Walsh has embraced the opportunity to be a featured player and led the team in scoring (15.0 PPG) heading into Sunday's finale, while first-round pick Hugo Gonzalez is already showing promising signs (37.5% from 3-point range, 11.7 PPG, and third-most APG on the team at 3.3).

That being said, fans' attention is already back on 2025-26 after this brief detour in Sin City. And though this upcoming season likely won't see star Jayson Tatum take the floor, he's still turning heads during his recovery.

Jayson Tatum Shares Exciting New Injury Update on Instagram

On Sunday, Tatum posted a picture of his legs stretched out to his Instagram. While it seems unremarkable at first, this is actually huge for the six-time All-Star, since it seems like he's now out of a walking boot while he tends to his injured right leg.

Tatum teasing his progress to fans has, unsurprisingly, stirred up the Boston faithful in the best way possible. Even though this wouldn't be considered ahead of schedule for the talented forward -- as it lines up with him hitting 10 weeks post-surgery -- it's great to see Tatum hasn't experienced any setbacks in the early going at the very least.

Tatum's expected absence for a majority (if not all) of this upcoming season has certainly played a role in changing the Celtics' outlook. However, the team has added some intriguing pieces to get a closer look at in 2025-26 with Tatum out, like Gonzalez, Anfernee Simons and Georges Niang.

That means there will be ample opportunities for those players and others to cement their case as guys to keep around once Tatum is back. That'd also make it no surprise, then, if Boston does invite at least one veteran from its Summer League roster to training camp this fall.
