It isn't easy to have a career in the NFL that spans a decade, and it is even rarer to find a player who calls the same franchise their home for that entire time period as well. However, Patriots fans have enjoyed one key piece of the puzzle being part of their organization for the past 10 years, and now the veteran is questioning whether he even wants to try and play somewhere else.
This past month, the Patriots made the tough decision to release veteran center David Andrews after the former Georgia Bulldogs standout was a starter along the offensive line going back to 2016. While Andrews was forced to miss the entire 2019 campaign after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism, he returned to New England's starting lineup for the 2020 season and served as the signal caller on the offensive line through 2024.
Now, with his career seemingly at a crossroads, Andrews is unsure whether or not he has the internal desire to even go to a new franchise and attempt to start over in a new city. He elaborated on that stance during an appearance at an event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
"I'm gonna figure it out," Andrews said. "I don't know if I wanna play. I don't know how much I have long left in me to go somewhere else, start over."
"To me, if I didn't care about the place I was playing, then you're just playing for a paycheck, and that was never really why I started doing this."

Andrews, a two-time Super Bowl champion with New England, was selected as a member of the Patriots All-2010s Team in recognition of all his contributions to the franchise's success after joining the organization as an undrafted free agent in 2015.
Regardless of whether or not he elects to continue his playing career, comments like these cement Andrews' legacy as one of the great Patriots offensive linemen of this generation.
