Disastrous Celtics Offseason About to Get Much Worse With Latest Free Agency Report

The Boston Celtics had no choice but to revamp their roster this offseason. Faced with a serious cap crunch and a desperate need to shed salary, the Celtics had to part ways with Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis in quick succession. Then they followed that up by letting fan favorite center Luke Kornet walk in free agency.

Even though Celtics fans expected downgrades across the board on the roster, the talent drain is still hard to come to terms with. Boston added Luka Garza in free agency, but he doesn't make enough of a difference in how this offseason will be judged for the Celtics.

If these moves weren't enough, things are about to get even worse for the Celtics, per the latest report by ESPN reporter Ohm Youngmisuk. In his appearance on ESPN, he reported that signs are pointing toward Al Horford signing with the Warriors in free agency.

Al Horford May Be the Latest Celtic to Leave in Free Agency

This comes on the heels of longtime Warriors vet Kevon Looney signing a new contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Golden State's interest in Horford has also been confirmed by HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, who named the Knicks, Nuggets, Cavaliers, and the Lakers as other suitors for the veteran center. The Celtics will obviously try to retain Horford as they desperately need more center depth and quality, but they are unlikely to have the best offer due to their financial constraints.

Celtics fans need to brace for the looming news of Horford's departure. This will leave new addition Luka Garza, Xavier Tillman, and Neemias Queta as the only big men on the roster, meaning that Boston will almost certainly have to look elsewhere in free agency or the trade market to bolster the rotation.
