The New England Patriots have done a great job of strengthening their wide receiving corps this offseason, headlined by four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Although he is recovering from a torn ACL, which he suffered in October of last season, Diggs is the most accomplished and recognizable receiver on the roster.
In addition to Diggs, the team added 6’4’’ Mack Hollins, a big-bodied receiver who has excelled in OC Josh McDaniels' offense in the past, and drafted former Washington State receiver, Kyle Williams, in the 3rd round of the Draft.
The Patriots also have several other receivers competing for a couple of roster spots. While the team has plenty of depth at the position, outside of Diggs, the team lacks high-end talent. That could change with a trade for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings.
49ers WR Jauan Jennings, who is scheduled to make $7.5 million this season in the final year of his deal, wants a new contract or a trade, per sources.

Patriots Must Pursue Jauan Jennings on the Trade Market
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jennings is unhappy about making $7.5 million in the final year of his contract and wants either a contract extension or a trade.
Money is no issue for the Pats. According to Over The Cap, the team leads the league with over $60 million in cap space for this year and could easily give him the raise that he wants. Last season, Jennings took full advantage of his opportunity after premier wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk suffered a season-ending injury. The 6’3’’ Jennings had a breakout year, with 77 catches for 975 yards and six touchdowns, all of which were in the top 35 amongst wide receivers.
Adding someone of Jennings' ability to a team that lacked consistent wide receiver production last season would work wonders for franchise quarterback Drake Maye. Whether or not the Pats make a move, one thing is clear: they’re finally serious about upgrading the weapons around their young QB.
