New England Patriots fans already had reasons to be excited about A.J. Brown's arrival. He's one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, is an elite deep threat, and he will be crucial to Drake Maye's development moving forward.

The Patriots have a real receiving room for the first time in a long time. It was already solid before the Brown trade, but now, it has become one of their strengths.

Recently, Brown got a big endorsement from Maye, who spoke highly about his new No. 1 receiver and what he has showcased so far.

"A.J.'s been awesome. I'm really looking forward to playing with him. I'm looking forward to getting into camp and then build some chemistry. I know there's already something there for me. You've just got to throw it near him, and he'll make a play. So, he's a great teammate, he's been great so far, and he loves to win," Maye said at his FlexWork Sports camp.

A.J. Brown makes the Patriots' offense legit

Their offense obviously isn't as good as it was in, say, 2007, but it's still in a really good spot for the Patriots for next season.

Maye just finished as the runner-up for MVP in his second season, and the sky is the limit for him. On top of that, New England has a good receiving corps (Brown, Romeo Doubs, Hunter Henry, Kayshon Boutte... for now?), an improved offensive line with the additions of Caleb Lomu and Alijah Vera-Tucker, and a promising backfield of Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson.

But trading for Brown is going to move the needle for them in a big way. He's the best receiver they have had in years, and he is going to be a great fit in New England's system.

The 29-year-old is a physical receiver who can take the top off the defense, catch jump balls, and make contested catches. Given how great Maye is at throwing the long ball, having someone like Brown should help unlock some more of his potential.

Plus, Brown's gravity should open up the rest of the field for everybody else. With opposing defenses needing to zero in on the three-time All-Pro selection, that could open up opportunities for Doubs, Boutte, Henry, or the running game to make an impact.

Patriots fans should be ecstatic to see what Brown can do in New England, especially with Maye and former (and current... again) head coach Mike Vrabel at the helm. He's going to bring a whole new dynamic on the field, and there's no telling how high he and the Patriots can fly next season and beyond.
