Former Boston Celtics guard Jaden Springer has landed a multi-year deal after being moved at the NBA trade deadline.
On Sunday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Utah has signed Springer to a three-year deal. The former Celtic guard has played in five games with the Jazz, averaging 4.2 points, 1.6 assists, and 0.8 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game.

The Jazz signed Springer to a 10-day contract on Feb. 19 to see if the 22-year-old guard could offer them anything on the floor. Utah must’ve loved what they saw from the former Celtic as he's staying in Salt Lake City for the foreseeable future.
Last month, the Celtics traded Springer and two draft picks (2030 second round and a protected 2027 second round) to the Houston Rockets in exchange for a protected 2031 second-round pick.
The trade helped the Celtics free up a roster spot, which they used to sign veteran forward Torrey Craig. It also helped Boston lower its tax penalty.
Meanwhile, Springer didn't spend much time in the Lone Star State as he was waived by the Houston Rockets days after the deadline. However, the good news is that he landed on his feet with the Utah Jazz.
With the NBA regular season in its final stretch, Springer landing a lucrative multi-year deal on a young Jazz team is a good sign for his NBA future.
The former-first round pick appeared in 50 total games across 2.5 seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers before trading him to the Celtics at last year’s NBA trade deadline.
Springer didn’t play much with the Celtics last season, appearing in 17 games. But this season, the 6-foot-4 combo guard played in 26 games with the Celtics, where he got a chance to show off his defensive skills ahead of the deadline.
