The Boston Celtics have enjoyed plenty of success in the NBA Draft in recent years, but even the most well-run front offices miss on draft picks on occasion.

As great as a player may be at the collegiate level or overseas, there are no guarantees they will ever have the same impact in the NBA. It is part of what makes the draft one of the most entertaining inexact sciences in all of sports.

While things did not pan out for the scoring guard the way that he or the Celtics had hoped, the No. 33 overall pick from the 2019 NBA Draft is still making a good living thanks to the game of basketball and is at the center of a bidding war between some of the biggest franchises in Europe, per BackdoorPodcast.com.

Boston Celtics Bust Carsen Edwards Drawing Major Overseas Interest

Carsen Edwards struggled to score the basketball as effectively at the NBA level as he did in the Big Ten, which led to his time in the league ending sooner than he would have hoped. Now, however, he has a new lease on his basketball life in Europe and could be on the move this summer after a very successful stint with Bayern Munich.

With Edwards scoring the ball the way fans grew accustomed to seeing during his time at Purdue, it is not surprising that franchises like Paris Basketball, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Red Star Belgrade are all showing interest in adding the guard to their roster.

The 5-11 guard entered the NBA with the reputation of being a microwave-like scoring option after back-to-back All-American seasons for the Purdue Boilermakers. Ultimately, Edwards's time in Boston was short as he made just 68 appearances for the franchise from 2019 to 2021.

While his NBA averages are nothing to write home about, Edwards scored 3.3 points to go along with 1.1 rebounds per game. He turned his career around with Bayern Munich and is now looking at a big pay day as a result.
