Veteran kicker Nick Folk last played for the Patriots in 2022, but he’ll now kick in Gillette Stadium twice a year as the new kicker of the New York Jets, as he returns to the organization he spent seven years with from 2010-16.
Folk, 40, is entering his 18th season in the NFL on his fifth team. After leaving New England, he spent the last two seasons with the Tennessee Titans and played in 31 games. He made 50-of-52 field goals (96.2%) and 53-of-55 extra points (96.4%).
The Patriots haven’t had a consistent and reliable kicker since Folk’s last season in 2022. He finished his four years in New England playing in 57 games from 2019-2022 and went 108-of-121 on field goals (89.3%) and 116-of-127 (91.3%) on extra points.
Jets have signed veteran kicker Nick Folk, who played seven seasons for them from 2010-16. Folk’s 729 points are No. 2 on the Jets’ career list, trailing only Pat Leahy's 1,470.

Former Patriots Kicker Nick Folk Signs with Jets
While with the Patriots, Folk set an NFL record for the most consecutive made field goals under 50 yards with 57. He played in the sixth-most games for a kicker in franchise history with 57 and has the fifth-most field goals made in franchise history with 108.
Folk has been the NFL’s leader with a 96.2 percent field goal conversion rate in the last two years. He’s currently second in Jets franchise history with 729 career points scored.
In 2010, Folk made the winning field goal to send New York to the AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He holds a special place in franchise history as their best kicker since Pat Leahy finished his 17-year and 250-game career in 1991.

During the offseason, the Jets signed undrafted rookie free agent kicker Caden Davis. He’s a very accomplished kicker out of Ole Miss where he made 80.8 percent on field goal attempts and 98.1 percent on extra points.
Davis signed a three-year contract for $2,975,000 with $35,000 guaranteed in April. He was waived at the end of July, only three months after signing and the corresponding roster move was to sign Folk.
The move clearly shows that head coach Aaron Glenn likely values what a veteran kicker can bring to the table as he leads the Jets in his first year as a head coach.
As for the Patriots, they drafted the top kicker in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Andres Borregales, with the hope that he will become the next franchise kicker in New England.
