The Boston Celtics had a rather comfortable win on Sunday, throttling the Orlando Magic in the second half to take a 1-0 lead in their first-round series. The scariest moment of the game for Celtics fans came early in the fourth quarter when Jayson Tatum landed awkwardly after a flagrant foul by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Tatum remained on the floor for an extended period of time but got up to shoot his free throws and stayed in the game despite showing signs of discomfort.
After the game, Tatum revealed that he suffered a right wrist injury, but the X-ray was clean. On Tuesday, head coach Joe Mazzulla provided the latest update on his superstar.
Joe Mazzulla said Jayson Tatum is day-to-day with his right wrist. Said he was sore after the game.

Celtics News: Jayson Tatum's Status for Game 2 is Unclear
The Athletic's Jay King reported that, according to Mazzulla, Tatum should be considered "day-to-day" and that he was still "sore" after the game.
Tatum has until Wednesday evening to recover from the wrist injury. Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything too concerning that would prevent Tatum from getting back to 100% in a couple of days.
The Celtics can be conservative with Tatum and choose to rest him in Game 2. They understandably feel like they can still beat Orlando without their best player. Even in the worst-case scenario that Tatum misses the game and Boston loses at home, they will still be considered overwhelming favorites to advance to the second round.
The most important thing for the Celtics over the next few weeks will be to ensure they are healthy and clicking when they proceed to later rounds in the Eastern Conference. The latest on Tatum is a positive sign for the Celtics on that front.
