Once the offseason started, the New England Patriots became one of the most active teams. Bringing in Mike Vrabel started this off, and it continued during their free agent frenzy.

The Pats handed out a bunch of money, and DT Milton Williams got the most with a four-year, $104 million deal. He became the highest-paid player on the team at $26 million, and that comes with a different set of expectations.

The Pats have been holding voluntary workouts over the past couple of weeks. Williams already revealed that Vrabel called him out in the first week, and he liked it.

Vrabel's message was, " If you are going to be here, it’s on you to set the standard."

Milton Williams Already Got Called Out by Mike Vrabel

Williams is coming from the Philadelphia Eagles, who won Super Bowl 59. He also played under defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who isn't known for being a slouch himself.

Vrabel will never be soft on his players, and that was made apparent early in the offseason. And his message to Williams is right. After giving him that huge deal, they are expecting him to be a game wrecker, and the way he handles himself as a leader in the offseason goes a long way. Especially since other younger players could look up to him and hope to be in his position one day.

The 26-year-old has all the traits needed to be a menace along the interior, and that's why New England rewarded him. In 67 career games, Williams has supplied 132 total tackles, 29 QB hits, 25 TFLs, and 11.5 sacks.

The Pats are looking for him to help generate more pressure. Especially since they paid Harold Landry in free agency and have Keion White already on the roster.

New England is looking to change things around in 2025 and Vrabel will be relying on Williams to help lead that spark.
