After a disastrous 1-6 start to the season, the New England Patriots righted the ship, winning two out of their last three, with their only loss coming in overtime at Tennessee. The fanbase is feeling better about this young team while the Patriots are preparing for their Week 11 clash against the Los Angeles Rams.

As the Patriots get ready for the final stretch of the season, the front office made some roster moves, signing defender Yannick Ngakoue off waivers. To make room for him, the Patriots waived veteran linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

Yet, there was an expectation that the Patriots would bring McMillan back to the practice squad once he cleared waivers. On Wednesday, ESPN's Mike Reiss reported that there was no locker set up for McMillan, signaling the fact that his return to Foxborough wasn't imminent.

Patriots News: LB Raekwon McMillan Not Returning to New England After Release

McMillan's tenure in New England has been mired by constant injuries and disappointment. After he signed with the Patriots in the 2021 offseason, he suffered a torn ACL that forced him to miss the entire season. He signed a one-year extension, regardless.

After entering the 2022 season as a starter alongside Ja'Whaun Bentley, he was eventually demoted and became a backup player who appeared more on special teams. He then signed a contract extension in 2023 before tearing his Achilles tendon and missing the entire year. Despite the injury, the Patriots signed him to yet another one-year extension.

Now, it seems like the Patriots finally gave up on the former second-round pick. In 25 games as a Patriots, the former Ohio State standout had 80 tackles, six tackles for loss, one QB hit, and one sack.
