The New England Patriots have made a lot of sweeping changes to the roster this offseason. They named Mike Vrabel the head coach in January, and it's been a mission to bring a whole collection of pass catchers.
They handed out a lot of cash in free agency, and they had an 11-player draft class this past weekend. While there is excitement around these new additions, the Patriots had to give some bad news to six players.
According to Aaron Wilson, New England released Jake Andrews, Marcus Harris, JaQuae Jackson, Titus Leo, Mark Perry, and Giovanni Ricci on Monday.

Patriots Part Ways With Six Players on Monday
Andrews was a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by New England and started in one game for them. Harris signed with the Pats' practice squad last October and signed a reserve/future contract on January 6, 2025.
Jackson was waived by the Atlanta Falcons in June 2024 but was placed on injured reserve after suffering a preseason injury against the Philadelphia Eagles. Last November, Leo signed with New England's active roster off the Colts' practice squad.
Perry is another player who joined New England's practice squad and landed a reserve/future contract in January 2025. Lastly, Ricci was someone else who signed a reserve/future deal in February.
Unfortunately for these guys, they didn't get a chance to prove themselves enough to make the roster and were let go.
The Pats were able to get younger, faster, and more explosive over the last few months. The NFL Draft was the last big event when teams could add major talent to the roster, and New England took advantage.
The feeling inside the building is high after the draft, and it's all about seeing it translate onto the field. Rookie minicamps will take place in the next few weeks, and fans will get to see these rookies in action for the first time ever.
