Patriots Make Roster Move on Morning of Trade Deadline
The New England Patriots are 2-7 on the year and are ready for an international trip in Week 10. On Sunday, the Patriots travel to Germany as they play against the Carolina Panthers.
The trade deadline is on Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. ET, and multiple teams around the league are making moves for the second-half push. That isn't the case for the Pats, though, as they are rebuilding for the future. That didn't stop them from making an addition on Tuesday. According to Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald, the Pats are signing guard Tyrese Robinson off of the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.
Patriots News: New England Signed Tyrese Robinson on Tuesday
Robinson played his college ball at Oklahoma before going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent time with Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, and Vikings in the pros. He has experience playing both left and right guard.
That versatility is huge for the Pats, as they've been battered with injuries up front all season long. The 25-year-old has yet to make his NFL debut but he clearly has impressed teams enough to keep him around on practice squads.
He joins Ben Brown, Lecitus Smith, Demontrey Jacobs, Michael Jordan, Vederian Lowe, Mike Onwenu, Layden Robinson, Sidy Sow, and Zachary Thomas along the trenches. In last week's game against the Tennessee Titans, the Pats benched Robinson and had Onwenu slide in right guard. They led to Jacobs coming off the bench.
There has been constant shuffling along the offensive line in 2024 and Robinson gives them an additional option.
