The New England Patriots are 5-2 and sit in first place in the AFC East. They've won four straight games and are now looking some serious playoff threats in the first year under Mike Vrabel.
There's still some holes on the roster and the trade deadline is on Nov. 4. The time is dwindling on being able to make a move on the trade market and Jordan Addison is a name that has been floated in rumors.
Senior NFL reporter Albert Breer revealed that New England is taking the "long-term view" stance this deadline and Addison is someone who could fit that bill.
Offering Minnesota a 2026 third-round pick and 2026 sixth-round pick would likely be enough to get the Vikings to trade Addison over to the Patriots.

The Patriots have been looking to improve their receiving core for years now and were able to achieve that a bit when they added Stefon Diggs in free agency this past March. He's leading the team in catches (39) and receiving yards (456) but adding another dynamic receiver would only make this a better offense.
The Vikings have superstar Justin Jefferson in the fold already and Addison has given them some problems off the field recently. He was suspended for the first three games of this season since he violated the league's substance abuse policy, when he was arrested in Los Angeles for a DUI.
Some hiccups continued into the regular season, as Addison was benched in the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns. It was labeled as a coach's decision before he returned for the remainder of the game. While these are some things to consider before making a deal, Addison would give Drake Maye an explosive playmaker.
In three games in 2025, he's second on the team in receiving yards (283) with 18 catches and one score. He's gone over 110 receiving yards in two of the three outings. It's not clear whether or not the Vikings would even want to pay him but New England might not have the reservation.
He's signed through the 2026 season and there's a club option for the 2027 campaign. The Pats wouldn't even need to rush to give him a deal but that kind of acquisition is what brings teams to another notch. New England likely won't find as a good of a player in the third and fifth round , so moving on from those picks shouldn't hurt too much.
The USC product has 2,069 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in his career. He's just 24 years old and could give Maye a WR he can build with.
