The New England Patriots are 3-7 on the year and have won two of the last three games. Head coach Jerod Mayo is in his first year of coaching and is looking to rebuild this roster.

They've had to deal with multiple things through the first 10 weeks of the season but have found a nice groove lately. Last week, they defeated Chicago Bears 19-3 and will look to build on it against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

New England released receiver Tyquan Thornton on Saturday but also got some great news later on in the day. They activated defensive lineman Christian Barmore from the non-football injury list, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Patriots News: Christian Barmore Is Back for New England

Rapoport added that Barmore should be able to play on Sunday and that will give the entire team a jolt of energy.

Barmore has been out since late July after he was diagnosed with blood clots. He officially returned to the practice field on Thursday.

This offseason, the Alabama product inked a massive four-year extension for $92 million, including $41.8 million guaranteed. The 25-year-old is a stifling run defender who can also generate pressure in the backfield.

Last season, he posted career-highs in total tackles (64), tackles for loss (13), and sacks (8.5). In addition, Barmore had an 83.8 overall grade and 84.9 pass-rush grade per PFF. Although the team will ease him back into action, his presence out there will benefit the team.
