The New England Patriots dropped their five straight after suffering an embarrassing blowout loss at the hands of the Houston Texans. Drake Maye looked good in his NFL debut but it wasn't enough to catapult the Patriots offense into respectability. The Patriots failed to reach 300 total yards once again.

One of the main reasons for the lack of offensive production is the lack of elite talent in the wide receiver corps.

That is why the Patriots chased after high-end pass-catchers in free agency but failed to sign any. One of those names was Calvin Ridley who signed a four-year, $92 million deal with the Titans in the spring. It was revealed at the time that the Patriots offered roughly $22 million per year for the star receiver but came up short.

Now, Ridley may be regretting that decision. After Tennessee's fourth loss in five games, the 29-year-old receiver couldn't hide his frustration and gave a post-game interview riddled with expletives.

NFL News: Calvin Ridley Extremely Frustrated With Titans

Ridley finished the game with zero catches on eight targets while quarterback Will Levis threw for 95 yards for the game. The Titans ended up losing to the Colts 20-17.

For the season, Ridley has only caught nine of his 27 targets. He only has two catches for 14 yards in five games. This is easily the worst stretch of his career.

The Patriots offense has been far from ideal. Ridley likely would have had similar struggles in Foxborough but at least the future is bright with Drake Maye under center. The same certainly can't be said about the Titans.
