In the last two seasons, the New England Patriots won a combined eight games. The team undoubtedly had to make changes to their coaching staff and roster with the hope of getting back to their winning ways.
Heading into this season, the Patriots look completely different from last year’s team, as only five coaches remain from last year’s staff. Mike Vrabel cleaned house, bringing in his guys, most notably hiring Josh McDaniels and Terrell Williams as coordinators for the offense and defense.
More changes came in the offseason, as the Patriots spent a league-high $365 million in free agency. Some of their big-name additions included Stefon Diggs, Milton Williams, and Carlton Davis III.
Even with all the numerous acquisitions they made, this Patriots newcomer has outshone their $43.5 million investment with his stellar camp.

K’Lavon Chaisson Outshining Harold Landry III
Out of all the Patriots’ newest additions, no one thought K’Lavon Chaisson would be one of the best performers in camp. Chaisson had his best day at camp two weeks ago against Will Campbell, recording two sacks and a pressure.
Throughout camp, he’s been doing everything you want to see. He's been generating pressure no matter who's in his way, and has been putting in the work after practice. This grit and work ethic are what the team lacked from players in previous years.

After recording a career-high five sacks with the Las Vegas Raiders last year, the Patriots were able to sign him to a team-friendly one-year, $3 million deal. So far, Chaisson has made a lot more noise than his teammate Harold Landry III, who inked a three-year, $43.5 million deal with the Patriots.
Although the pair recorded a sack in Wednesday’s joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings, there has been little talk of Landry. While it’s still only training camp, Landry hasn’t had a standout day that you’d hope to see.
The Patriots signed him to bolster their horrendous pass rush, which ranked last in sacks last year (28), and as of now, he hasn’t been their best edge rusher. That title has arguably gone to Chaisson.
Still only 25 years old, Chaisson has the potential to break out into a quality pass rusher. Although he’s yet to live up to the first-round talent that the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted, he could have a breakout season with the Patriots' improved defensive line and earn himself a payday in the offseason.
