The NFL offseason is already heating up as just over three weeks remain before free agency begins. It'll only be a matter of time before offseason workouts begin and the New England Patriots return to the gridiron, giving fans their first glimpse at what head coach Mike Vrabel and his staff have in store for the 2025 campaign.
Even though the 2024 season was largely forgettable, several Patriots had performances that have the fanbase excited to see what the future holds. Joe Milton is one player who showed off his upset last year, leaving time to reveal how he'll capitalize on his newfound momentum.
Patriots News: Joe Milton Training with Former NFL QB Jordan Palmer
While the offseason is relatively young, Milton hasn't wasted any time getting back to action.
Patriots reporter Carlos A. Lopez revealed on Monday that Milton has been training with former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer to begin the offseason. The former 2007 sixth-round pick has been someone who current QBs turn to during the offseason to help work on any glaring issues in their respective game.

Palmer, the founder of QB Summit, is highly regarded for his work with quarterbacks.

After retiring from football in 2014, Palmer soon founded the QB Summit, a youth camp designed to "give you the tools to build your confidence to be the best QB, student, and kid — on and off the field." The QB Summit has helped several signal-callers achieve their NFL dreams in recent years, including Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Trevor Lawrence.
He's even tutored three-time Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes, who's already on track to being one of the best players in NFL history.
This isn't to say that working with Palmer will help Milton reach the levels of Allen or Mahomes. After all, that duo is on a completely different level compared to the majority of QBs today.
Nevertheless, the fact that Milton connected with Palmer proves that the former is serious about challenging for the QB2 job behind Drake Maye this offseason. The ex-Tennessee Volunteer gave Patriots fans a glimpse of what he could do against the Buffalo Bills in Week 18, completing 75.9% of passes for 241 yards and a touchdown while also converting 10 carries into 16 rushing yards and another score.
Even though it was "only" a Week 18 appearance, Milton balling out in his NFL debut should have the Patriots feeling confident about their situation under center. If the 24-year-old gunslinger continues to improve in the coming weeks and pushes Maye to be even better in training camp, New England will be better because of it.
More details regarding Milton's offseason improvements will be revealed within the next few months. The Patriots can officially hold their first team workouts with Vrabel at the helm beginning on Monday, Apr. 7.
