The New England Patriots are days away from playing against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. They will need all hands on deck to claim the victory, but as the game gets closer, some players aren't sure what their role will be.

Running back TreVeyon Henderson has had an up-and-down season in 2025, and with the biggest game of his life approaching, there's no telling what his role will be after how the three playoff games leading up to Sunday's tilt in Santa Clara have gone.

TreVeyon Henderson’s Role with Pats Is Uncertain Going into Super Bowl

Rhamondre Stevenson has been the workhorse in the Patriots' backfield over the last three games, with his carries increasing in every game. He's leading all rushers in touches (51) and yards (194), with his carries going from 10 to 16 to 25.

As for Henderson, he's logged 24 rushes for 57 rushing yards in the postseason. The Ohio State product has tallied 9, 12, and then 3 carries over the span in the playoff run. The coaching staff has put their trust in the veteran running back over the rookie; this much is clear.

This trend is different than what fans envisioned going into the playoffs. Stevenson missed some time during the regular season with a toe injury, and that cleared the way for Henderson to take over the lion's share of carries in the backfield.

From Week 9 to Week 18, Henderson ranked first on the team in carries in eight of the last nine games. It seemed like it was going to be Henderson's show, but that hasn't been the story in the playoffs. Even though Stevenson hasn't put up monster numbers, the Patriots are comfortable with him as their bellcow.

The weather wasn't pleasant in either the divisional or the AFC Championship Game, but that favored the ground game. And the ball still didn't find Henderson. With the biggest game of the season on the way, will New England make a sweeping change?

There's no telling, and fans won't have a clue either, as the Patriots changed their practice routine in preparation for the Super Bowl. Secrecy appears to be the name of the game for Mike Vrabel and Co. from here on out.

The approach on gameday will be interesting to watch since Seattle had one of the best defenses in the league, especially against the run. During the regular season, the Seahawks were third in rushing yards allowed (91.9). Both the Rams and 49ers ran for more than 100 yards in the playoffs, but barring some change to the game plan, it will be the Stevenson show while Henderson gets used sparingly.
