This year’s training camp feels different compared to previous years for the New England Patriots. Through seven days, we’ve seen multiple key players go down with injuries, which isn’t common for the Patriots.
Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis III, and Garrett Bradbury are currently dealing with injuries and are expected to miss some time as a result. Although it’s not ideal to have impactful players miss time, it allows depth players to shine and prove their worth.
One group that has seen consistent opportunities is the offensive line, as the line is constantly being adjusted daily to determine which group performs the best. The Patriots continue to add to the mix, signing this local standout.
Patriots Sign Alec Lindstrom on Wednesday
The Patriots made a new addition to their offensive line, signing Alec Lindstrom to bolster their depth at center. Lindstrom is a Dudley, Massachusetts native and played college football at Boston College, where he was named First-team All-ACC twice.
The Patriots have a new center wearing No. 61 at practice today. It's Boston College alum Alec Lindstrom, per source.

He went undrafted in 2022 and has bounced between the NFL to the UFL since. Lindstrom comes from a big football family, as his brother Chris plays for the Atlanta Falcons, and both his dad and uncle played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Before signing with the Patriots, Lindstrom was playing for the Memphis Showboats. The signing of Lindstrom comes after Bradbury got hurt in yesterday’s practice and didn’t participate in today’s practice.
Lindstrom joins Jared Wilson, Cole Strange, and Ben Brown as players who've taken reps at center in training camp. The Patriots continue to try out different combinations at both center and left guard, and they hope they can find their fit before the start of the regular season.
Although Lindstrom will have an opportunity to prove if he’s worthy of a depth spot, I think the Patriots signed him as an insurance piece until they determine the severity of Bradbury's injury. The Patriots have a ton of depth at offensive line, meaning Lindstrom will have to play extremely well for the Patriots to keep him on the team.
