Perhaps the biggest concern surrounding the New England Patriots entering the 2024 season was their (lack of) talent on the offensive line. So many fans were pessimistic about this group that they advocated for New England to not play No. 3 pick Drak eMaye due to concerns for his health.

Unfortunately, those fears have become reality, as the Pats' O-line has been one of the most disappointing parts of a down campaign. Luckily, Maye has avoided any serious ailments to this point, but he's taking an absolute beating on a weekly basis.

This sub-par play on the line cannot continue entering Maye's sophomore year, so New England must consider a heavy investment there this offseason, through the draft or free agency (or both). Well, one new FA prediction has them doing just that.

Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine believes the Pats' biggest weakness right now is at offensive tackle, and they think current Jacksonville Jaguars OT Walker Little is an ideal target for the team in free agency.

Ballentine points out that Jacksonville was comfortable enough with Little to trade away fellow tackle Cam Robinson at the deadline, and now the Patriots could sway the 25-year-old by offering a clear starting spot and healthy compensation to protect Maye.

"The Patriots could reap the benefits of the time Jacksonville has invested in getting him ready to be a starter. It wouldn't be surprising for Little to become a better player than the contract he signs in the offseason."

Going after the 2021 second-round pick makes a ton of sense for Eliot Wolf and co. Little boasts ideal size at 6-foot-7 and 325 pounds, so he'd bring an immediate presence to this O-line. He's also impressed since Robinson's departure from the Jags while giving up only two sacks on the year so far.

Also adding to Little's attractiveness as a FA target is the fact he may not command as much on the open market due to his up-and-down usage in Jacksonville. He's made only 21 starts for the Jags across four seasons, so he's still somewhat of an unknown.

New England could bet on his upside being unleashed in a featured role and snag him for more than others are offering, but less than what an elite lineman usually goes for. If the Pats do hit a home run with that move, Maye could have his blindside protector for years to come, and the team would have a quality starter at a potential discount.
