4. Stanley Morgan

Arguably the best receiver in franchise history, Morgan played for the Patriots from 1977-89. He ranks towards the top of nearly every New England receiving record. He is the franchise leader in receiving yards (10,352), ranks second in receiving touchdowns (67), and has the fourth-most receptions (534). In his time with the Patriots, the former first-rounder averaged an impressive 19.4 yards per reception.

Morgan was named to two All-Pro teams and four Pro Bowls, and led the NFL in receiving yards in 1979.

He was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2007, and has been recognized several times by the franchise with inclusions on the All-1970s and All-1980s teams, as well as the 35th and 50th anniversary teams.

Morgan's No. 86 is currently held by Kawaan Baker.

Even with all of the team's dynasty success since the turn of the century, many of Morgan's statistical totals still rank toward the top of the leaderboard. It's an impressive testament to the high level of play that he showcased then, and it would be a nice touch to honor that era of Patriots football.
