3 Celtics Who Will Be Cut Before Training Camp

With the Celtics keeping its core together from this past season, Boston won't have many open roster spots heading into the 2024-25 season.

3. Jordan Walsh

With all three of the Celtics’ two-way spots locked up, former second-round pick Jordan Walsh could be on the roster bubble.

Last season, Walsh played in nine games with the Celtics, as he spent most of his rookie year in the NBA G League. The 20-year-old played well in the NBA's minor league, averaging 14.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in 29.7 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-7 forward showed off his three-point prowess, shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc on 5.7 attempts per game.

The Celtics could use Walsh’s shooting and athleticism off the bench this coming season. But the former second-round pick didn’t play his best in the Las Vegas Summer League last month, scoring a disappointing 9.0 points per game on 29.1 percent shooting from the field and 13.3 percent from deep.

It would be shocking to see the Celtics part ways with Walsh, who they put a lot of development time in with last season. However, Boston wants to win another title and could find a veteran player to take Walsh’s roster spot.
