1. Daniel Theis

Could Daniel Theis complete his hat-trick of stints with the Boston Celtics? Theis has played 257 games in a Celtics uniform in his two tenures in Boston. The Celtics were the first team to bring the German stateside in 2017 from the Basketball Bundesliga. Theis played for the C's from 2017 to 2021, when he was traded to the Chicago Bulls in a three-team trade.

He was reunited with the Celtics in Feb. 2022 and played 12.5 minutes per game on their run to the NBA Finals. Only months later, Theis was dealt to the Indiana Pacers as part of a package for Malcolm Brogdon.

Per Brian Robb of MassLive, the Celtics tried to sign Daniel Theis last offseason as a free agent, and he still has "fans in the front office".

"The Celtics tried to reunite with Theis last year when he became a free agent but he opted to sign with the Clippers, who had more minutes available. The equation may change now though with Boston having plenty of minutes available for at least the first two months of the season and potentially beyond at center. Theis still has fans in the front office so this is a name to keep an eye on."

Theis didn't exactly tear it up in the 2023-24 season (6.3 PPG), but the 32-year-old's relationship with the Celtics and their infatuation with him makes it a plausible recipe for round three.
