3 Kickers the Patriots Should Draft to Compete With Chad Ryland

Chad Ryland's rookie season with the New England Patriots was nothing short of disappointing. That's why the Pats must target these three kickers at the 2024 NFL Draft to compete with Ryland in training camp.

3. Harrison Mevis, Missouri

Another kicker that the Patriots should consider drafting is Missouri's Harris Mevis.

Like Reichard and Karty, Mevis has been one of college football's best kickers over the last few years. The Warsaw, IN native leaves Missouri as the program's leader in total points (405) and even set an SEC record with a 61-yard game-winning field goal against Kansas State in Week 3 of the 2023 campaign.

Speaking of last year, Mevis showed up more often than not for the Tigers. Although he tallied his first-ever extra-point miss in 2023, the 22-year-old special teamer still went 45-for-46 (97.8%) following a touchdown while nailing 80.0% (24-for-30) of his field-goal opportunities.

At the end of the day, the 99.3 XP% and 83.5 FG% he recorded throughout his collegiate run highlight just how special of a prospect Mevis is. If he can have a better transition to the NFL than Ryland, it might not be long before Mevis is among the league's best kickers.
