3. J.C. Jackson Has an Interception

With the crushing news that rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez is done for the season with a torn labrum, New England brought back old friend J.C. Jackson to help replace him.

As many Patriots fans surely remember, Jackson was an absolute ballhawk for us not too long ago. He racked up 25 interceptions during his first four seasons with New England from 2018-2021, including 17 in 2020 and 2021 combined. He also led the NFL with 23 passes defended in 2021, earning Pro Bowl honors that year for the only time in his career.

The Chargers rewarded him with a fat contract in free agency after that, and his production promptly fell off a cliff. Injuries played a big part in that, as he's only played in 7 games since the beginning of last year.

Jackson seems to have lost his nose for the football, as he only had 1 interception since leaving New England. But now that he's back in Bill Belichick's scheme, perhaps he'll get back to his old ways.

It also helps that Jackson is going up against Derek Carr, who's been notoriously interception-prone throughout his career. He's been picked off 30 times over his last 36 games and is a get bet to throw at least 1 interception on Sunday.

If he does, I'm guessing it ends up in the hands of Jackson.
