3 Patriots on Chopping Block Next After Matthew Judon Trade
The New England Patriots have been shuffling things around this entire offseason but that's no surprise. There's new leadership in the building as they are looking to change the identity behind the team.
New head coach Jerod Mayo was hoping for a smooth and quiet summer but it's been far from that. EDGE Matthew Judon was publicly upset with his current contract and wanted a new deal.
The Patriots decided not to hand him an extension and on Wednesday, they sent Judon to the Atlanta Falcons for a third-round pick.
Now as continue to get closer to the regular season, some more players will be on their way out of New England. Here are three players who are on the chopping block next.
1. Jalen Reagor, WR
Wide receiver Jalen Reagor re-signed with the Patriots this offseason on a one-year deal but that doesn't mean he's going to be there for the long haul.
Ever since entering the league as a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, he's failed to make a statement. Although he has the speed you want in a playmaker, he's not a good route runner and struggles to create separation.
In 11 games with New England, the TCU product finished with seven receptions (23 targets) for 138 receiving yards, and zero touchdowns.
The Pats may not have a No. 1 WR but they have built a nice collection of young playmakers. It's unlikely that Reagor makes the cut.
