2. Tyquan Thornton, WR

Sticking with the same theme, wide receiver Tyquan Thornton is another receiver who should be looking over his shoulder. When he was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Pats believed they were getting a certified deep threat but that's been far from the truth.

In his first two seasons, the Baylor produced has missed 12 games. Even when he touched the field, he had problems making a positive impact. The 24-year-old has 35 receptions (68 targets) for 338 receiving yards, and two touchdowns with the Pats.

There's an argument to be made that he should be on the roster, though there once was the same argument for a much better player in Judon.

His play on the field played a factor in why the Patriots decided to revamp the receiver core. They added Ja'Lynn Polk, Javon Baker, and KJ Osborn this offseason. They also re-signed Kendrick Bourne and have DeMario Douglas on the roster. And you can't forget about Kayshon Boutte.

That puts six receivers ahead of Thornton on the depth chart and it will be difficult for him to overcome that with the regular season three weeks away.
