The New England Patriots are headed to the 2024 NFL Draft with eight picks. With four picks in the first two days of the draft, the Patriots have a real chance to upgrade their roster and set themselves up for the future.

With new decision-makers Eliot Wolf and Jerod Mayo in charge, the Patriots have a chance to add even more picks during the draft. They could use their own draft selections to move up or down or trade their players to acquire additional picks. Here are the three Patriots who could likely be traded in the next few days.

Bailey Zappe, QB

The Patriots will almost certainly end up with a new franchise quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. We just don't know whether that is going to be Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy, or someone else. What we know, however, is that the Patriots added veteran signal-caller Jacoby Brissett to be the backup to their rookie QB.

That makes Bailey Zappe a prime trade candidate.

Instead of keeping Zappe around as the third-string quarterback, moving on from him and acquiring assets instead makes plenty of sense. The 24-year-old QB likely has some late-round value in a potential trade after showing some flashes in his starts over the last two seasons. Zappe has a 4-4 record in eight starts for his career. Considering the lack of offensive firepower he had on his hands, that is quite impressive.

Obviously, Zappe had a few underwhelming performances, for example in the last two games of the 2023 season against the Jets and the Bills. However, no one is going to trade for him to be their starter anyway. Yet, Zappe can be an intriguing backup option for various teams around the league.
