DT Jeremiah Pharms Jr.

This was the most out-of-nowhere performance of the game. The former USFL standout Jeremiah Pharms Jr. was arguably the best defensive player on the team, causing all sorts of problems for Carolina in the run game. The 27-year-old defensive tackle had his way with the Panthers' offensive line, recording a sack and drawing a hold while adding four tackles.

Pharms first signed with the Patriots in the 2022 offseason but didn't make an appearance in the NFL. Last season, he was signed to the active roster and played 90 snaps in 12 games, registering nine tackles.

The Patriots are looking for a solution to replace Christian Barmore, who was recently diagnosed with blood clots. Pharms made his case to be a potential option there with his physicality.

Whether he makes the 53-man roster remains to be seen but Barmore's injury may be an excellent opportunity for Pharms. The son of a former Cleveland Browns fifth-round pick, Pharms could be a decent depth option on the defensive line that includes Davon Godchaux, Deatrich Wise Jr, and Daniel Ekuale.
