The New England Patriots have their own picks in each round of the NFL Draft. They could package a few to trade up and target one of these prospects.

As high upside as some of the defensive prospects may be, it seems like it's more likely that the Patriots would target the offensive side of the ball in the early rounds of the draft. The defense has been respectable over the last few years after all, while the offense has been absolutely miserable.

What does a rookie quarterback need the most? Protection. It would behoove the Patriots to try to keep their new franchise quarterback as upright as possible with a high-level offensive line.

There are very few offensive tackles with the upside that Tyler Guyton out of Oklahoma has. Possessing incredible physical tools with a 6'8, 325-pound frame, Guyton has been one of the fastest risers in the draft.

Guyton has mostly gone under the radar throughout his collegiate career due to the fact that he didn't play much in his first two seasons. He started thriving once he transferred to Oklahoma from TCU, playing in 10 games last season for a total of 662 snaps and allowing no sacks and only 3 QB hits.

His lack of playing experience might deter some teams but Guyton's athleticism and quickness with his size is a rare combination.

He is considered a raw prospect at this stage but the Patriots are in no rush. They can develop and integrate him into the lineup slowly. When New England is ready to contend a few years down the line, Guyton will have matured into one of the most versatile and athletic offensive linemen in the game.

Guyton is currently projected to be a late first-round pick, PFF has him 29th on their big board. So there is a chance he might be there for the Patriots at 34, but if he isn't, he may be worth moving up a few spots for.

Regardless of who the Patriots select, it will be a long season for them. They are currently +1700 underdogs to win the AFC East. If you would like to get in on the action before the NFL Draft, head over to FanDuel Sportsbook now and claim your $200 in bonus bets after your first winning wager.
