2. Matthew Judon + 2025 2nd Round Pick

This trade proposal has already been endorsed by Matthew Judon himself, who retweeted a Patriots fan on Twitter back on July 20.

Matthew Judon's displeasure with the Patriots over his contract situation has been out in the open as training camp has gotten underway. On July 29, Judon was caught on camera having an animated disagreement with several members of the Patriots brass on the practice field, including head coach Jerod Mayo and de facto general manager Eliot Wolf.

Since the incident, Judon has returned to practice as a full participant.

Judon is currently set to earn a base salary of $6.5 million while carrying a cap hit of $14.675 million, per Spotrac. His contract was already previously restructured last Aug, which increased his 2023 guaranteed money from $2 million to $14 million. 2024 is the final year of his contract with the Patriots.

Judon tore his bicep in New England's fourth game in 2023 and missed the final 13 contests of the season. In his two full seasons with the Patriots, Judon earned Pro Bowl honors in both and even finished in the top 10 of AP Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2022.

In 38 games in New England, Judon has averaged just under a sack per game with 32. His 2021 and 2022 were seventh and fourth best in the league, respectively. Judon, if fully healthy, is probably the best player on the Patriots roster.

Judon is one of the more established pass rushers in the league, and the Niners would certainly love to pair him up with Nick Bosa on their defensive front. The Patriots could also be tempted to cut ties with a disgruntled member of their roster.
