3 Teams Desperate Enough to Sign JuJu Smith-Schuster Following Patriots Release

Pittsburgh Steelers
Who doesn't love a reunion story? Perhaps the best place for Smith-Schuster to revive his career is back where he started his NFL journey.
In his five seasons in Pittsburgh, Smith-Schuster was a big part of some dynamic Steelers offenses. Especially in the first two years of his career, he was particularly effective, posting 2,343 yards and 14 touchdowns in 30 games for one of the most dangerous offenses in the league.
Since then, he hasn't been able to replicate that success outside of his 2020 season.
However, a return to Pittsburgh might be exactly what both sides need. The Steelers have entered the Russell Wilson and Justin Fields era but don't have the most dynamic receiver corps. George Pickens leads the group after an impressive sophomore season but the depth behind him is questionable.
Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin are the other starters but the two had one touchdown between them last season. Their third-round pick Roman Wilson and former Eagle Quez Watkins will certainly help but it's hard to argue that these are all significantly better options than JuJu Smith-Schuster.
If there is an argument to be made for Smith-Schuster being a rotation-level NFL wide receiver, the easiest bet for that to come to fruition is among this weak Steelers receiver unit.
