3. CB Shaun Wade — 2024 Salary: $1,055,000

After making only six appearances in his first two NFL seasons, Shaun Wade saw his most playing time during the 2023 campaign. He went from playing a combined 29 defensive snaps in 2021 and 2022 before jumping up to 348 in his third year.

Fortunately, he didn't look out of place with the added responsibility. Wade was targeted 34 times across 14 games (6 starts), only allowing 22 completions (64.7%) for 244 receiving yards without a touchdown. The 85.9 passer rating he allowed would've ranked 31st among 59 quarterbacks last season, which further highlights just how solid he was.

Furthermore, the 25-year-old performed well as a run-stopper. On top of recording 23 total tackles (21 solo), his 73.2 run-block grade ranked 25th-best among 125 qualified cornerbacks, per PFF. Considering how the Patriots had a top-5 run defense in 2023, it isn't hard to see that Wade played a key role in that success.

The ex-Ohio State product has done everything the Patriots have asked from him since being drafted 160th overall in 2021, so it's time to reward him for his efforts.
