4 Patriots Most to Blame for Blowing Week 2 Win vs. Seahawks

3. Kyle Dugger

After New England grabbed momentum early with Ja'Lynn Polk's first career receiving touchdown for a 7-0 lead, Seattle tied the score on the next drive when a busted coverage on a miscommunication between Kyle Dugger and Christian Gonzalez left DK Metcalf wide-open down the left side for a 56-yard touchdown.

Perhaps it's harsh on Dugger, who had a strong Sunday and led the Patriots in tackles, but the fifth-year veteran took responsibility postgame for the blown coverage. It could easily be seen as a veteran taking the blame for a rookie like Gonzalez—a good teammate move by Dugger if that is the case.

Dugger is a good player and an integral piece of this defense, but Metcalf's touchdown erased New England's early momentum on an easily preventable play, but Dugger did take ownership for one of the most important plays in the game, so the same accountability will be held here.
