5 Bruins Leaving Boston in 2024

Depending on how the rest of the 2023-24 NHL season unfolds, don't count on seeing these Bruins lasting the entire New Year in Boston.

5. Milan Lucic, LW

It'd be an absolute shock if Milan Lucic remained with the Bruins (or any NHL team) through 2024.

After receiving a hero's welcome when he returned to Boston this summer after spending nearly a decade away, it didn't take long for Lucic to lose all good faith. After landing on the long-term injured reserve after playing just four games, the 35-year-old veteran was "arrested on suspicion of assault and battery on a family member," which could carry up to nearly three years in prison if convicted.

Lucic has since entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and while it's commendable to see him trying to better himself, the ship has sailed for a return to the Bruins. His horrible actions shouldn't be forgotten and bringing him back to the lineup at any point would be a disaster waiting to happen — especially if he falls into his old ways.

If the Bruins want to send a message going forward, Lucic must never don a Boston jersey again.
