5. Jonathan Jones

The Patriots' cornerback room suffered a major blow with Christian Gonzalez suffering a season-ending shoulder injury last week. While the team has since reunited with CB J.C. Jackson via a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers, the team could still use Jonathan Jones' return.

Jones was one of our best CBs last year, finishing his seventh NFL season with 11 broken-up passes and four INTs along with a 52.7% completion percentage and 73.0 passer rating when targeted. Unfortunately, the ex-Auburn Tiger hasn't played since Week 1 due to an ankle injury.

While Jones has been able to practice and his situation is improving, he might be a few games away from playing. Team insider Scott Zolak reported on Wednesday that Jones will be back, but that the talented defender "probably plays next week" against the Raiders on the road.

With Gonzalez injured and the jury still out as to whether or not Jackson still has 'it,' Jones the most important part of New England's CB room at the moment. The team can't afford to risk worsening his situation by forcing him to play if he isn't 100%.

Unless he's a full participant in practice for the remainder of the week, chances are we'll have to wait one more game to see Jones back on the gridiron.
