5 Patriots Most Likely to Be Inactive vs. Raiders in Week 6
5. Calvin Anderson
After playing in New England's first four games this season, offensive tackle Calvin Anderson was scratched against New Orleans. With how he's played so far this season, the decision was well-warranted.
Anderson — who joined the Pats on a two-year deal in March — has left much to be desired. He's already given up a sack with a penalty over 154 offensive snaps, resulting in a 44.6 overall grade on Pro Football Focus.
His lone penalty was also a costly one as he took a holding call against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 which cost the Patriots a two-point conversion that would've cut Philly's lead to three points. Instead, New England failed to score on the ensuing play and wound up losing by five.
There just isn't much that Anderson does that can help the Patriots win football games. Instead, I wouldn't mind if OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr. got a chance to play this week.
The rookie blocker hasn't suited up since Week 2, but with the way the O-line is playing, it wouldn't hurt to get some fresh blood in there. If that means that Anderson has to sit to make it happen, I doubt you'll hear much disagreement from New England fans.
You also won't hear much disagreement from sports bettors over which sportsbook is the best in the industry.
