2. Kenley Jansen, RHP

A 15-year MLB veteran, Kenley Jansen has done a good job as the Red Sox's closing pitcher. The four-time All-Star has tallied 27 saves through 54 appearances this season while pitching to a 3.29 ERA and averaging 10.2 strikeouts per nine innings before landing on the injured list with a shoulder injury.

But as great as Jansen has been, a return to Boston for the 2025 season appears to be unlikely.

Red Sox insider Chris Cotillo reported on Sept. 14 that Jansen could draw attention from contending teams as a free agent this offseason. With 447 career saves since 2010, it isn't hard to see why World Series-hungry teams would be willing to shell out a lot of cash for his services.

While the Red Sox could, theoretically, re-sign Jansen, the franchise's refusal to spend money makes that unlikely. There's also the possibility that the 36-year-old doesn't want to spend what could be his final MLB campaign in Boston considering that he's been open about wanting to retire as a member of the LA Dodgers.

With the Red Sox looking to get younger this winter, Jansen's days with the franchise are likely numbered. He provided the fanbase with some terrific memories over the last two years, however, all good things must eventually come to an end.
