2. Al Horford

If the Boston Celtics do finish off the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, could Al Horford call it a career?

In his second stint with the Celtics and sixth season overall, Horford has defied Father Time as the 38-year-old has played a key role in Boston's success this season. He finished second on the team in rebounds and has been one of the team's best defenders. He's come up clutch in the playoffs, providing reliable secondary scoring at 9.6 points per game and has been the Celtics' second-best rebounder.

Horford is a five-time NBA All-Star and has two NCAA national championships from his time at Florida. If he adds the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy to that resume, there is not much more in the basketball world left for him to conquer. That's a heck of a career and one that he should feel very proud of riding off into the sunset with.

1. Charles Lee

Well the top spot on the list contains no speculation. Lee, Boston's top assistant coach to Joe Mazzulla this season, will become the head coach of the Charlotte Hornets at the conclusion of the NBA Finals. Lee's hiring was announced on May 9.

This is Lee's first season (and last) in Boston. He made the jump from Bucknell University to the Atlanta Hawks, where he served as an assistant from 2014-18. He followed head coach Mike Budenholzer to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he remained from 2018-23 and captured the 2021 NBA championship. Lee will have a lot of work to do in Charlotte, as the Hornets have not made a playoff appearance since the 2015-16 season and have not won a playoff series since 2002.

Filling the void left by Lee's departure will be a tall order once the Celtics' season comes to a close. If Cassell does ultimately stay in Boston, look for him to advance in Mazzulla's chain of command.
