The NFL season is underway and the New England Patriots are off to a hot start. As the season progresses, there will be plenty of roster moves due to injuries and poor performance. There are free agents who are waiting to be signed when that happens and the list includes some familiar names.

These former members of the Patriots are still looking for their next team as we head into Week 2. Let's take a look.

Brian Hoyer, QB

The 38-year-old quarterback is looking for his tenth NFL team. He is one of two NFL players ever to have started for eight different teams. The Patriots remain the team he played the most for, having three different stints for a total of eight seasons. He has started two and played a total of 30 games as a Patriot.

Hoyer was most recently with the Las Vegas Raiders, spending the 2023 season as Jimmy Garoppolo's backup and starting one game.

Once the NFL season starts taking its toll on teams and their QB depth charts, Hoyer's phone will likely ring. Whether he will get to start a game ever again, however, remains a different question.

Devin Asiasi, TE

One of the forgotten Patriots' draft picks of recent years, Devin Asiasi was a third-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. His Patriots tenure never got off to a good start as he dealt with injuries in his rookie season. He played a total of nine games but was seldom used in the passing game. He finished the season with two catches, 39 yards, and a touchdown.

Asiasi played only one game in the 2021 season and was later waived after his second year in the league. He spent one more season in the NFL with the Bengals and had practice squad stints with different teams but he remains an unsigned free agent as of now.
