3. Oshane Ximines, EDGE

Oshane Ximines was selected by the New York Giants with the 95th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. That pick originally belonged to the Cleveland Browns but was sent to the Giants as part of the trade for Odell Beckham, Jr. The other selection was the 17th overall, which was used on Clemson nose tackle Dexter Lawrence.

The Giants hoped adding Ximines and Lawrence would revamp their defense and they were half right. Lawrence turned into a stud but Ximines never truly developed as they hoped he would. Coming out of Old Dominion — and being the first player in school history to be drafted — Ximines was never a sure thing. He did show promise as a rookie with 25 tackles and 4.5 sacks but was limited over the next two years due to injuries.

Ximines was healthy again in 2022 but had just 24 tackles and two sacks. He re-signed with the Giants in 2023 but was released in November after spending most of the first two months of the year on the practice squad.

By 2024, he was looking for a new home and signed with the New England Patriots. It might need odd to release him already but there's not much room for Ximines on this roster. New England features a defense where the weakside linebacker is a primary pass rusher and that's where Matthew Judon, Anfernee Jennings, and Josh Uche already reside. That means Ximines is most likely going to be looking for another home — unless he plans on perhaps sticking with the New England practice squad this year.
