2. Trsyten Hill, DT

Dallas Cowboys fans will forever groan in frustration at the mention of the name Trysten Hill.

For as much credit as Rod Marinelli received, he sure missed the mark an awful lot when it came to defensive players. He was all for the drafting of Taco Charlton in 2017, citing his measurements as a reason to believe he would be a better pick than T.J. Watt. As if that wasn't bad enough, he was the one pounding the table for Trysten Hill in 2019.

Dallas was without a pick in Round 1, making Hill their first selection when they took him at No. 58. The move was criticized immediately since Hill wasn't even a starter at UCF and the coaches had issues with his maturity and attitude. Still, Marinelli wanted him and got him. And as was often the case with his projects, Hill failed miserably.

Not only did he perform poorly but he also fell asleep in a meeting when NBA Hall of Famer Isaiah Thomas spoke to the team. By December of 2022, the Cowboys released Hill and they might have done so sooner if he wasn't injured as often as he was.

Since departing Dallas, he's spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns. He signed with the Patriots practice squad in 2023, making it to the active roster for just one game. He now enters his sixth season with 39 tackles and 1.5 sacks on his resume. At this point, it would be a surprise if he made the roster in New England.
