6 Patriots Who Won't Survive the Preseason

The 2024 preseason is officially underway for the New England Patriots. On Thursday night, they hosted the Carolina Panthers and won 17-3.
Of course, winning and losing isn't what's important in the preseason. Instead, it's all about seeing how young players react to game situations at the NFL level. It's also important in determining which players on the bubble should make the 53-man roster.
For the Patriots, the stories following their first exhibition game have centered around rookie quarterback Joe Milton III. He wasn't on the field long but showed off his playmaking skills. Milton was 4-of-6 for 54 yards with a touchdown and added 22 yards on five rushing attempts. While he surely locked up a roster spot, these six Patriots are in danger of not surviving the preseason.

A fourth-round pick in 2019 out of Ohio State, Michael Jordan started his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. In two years, he appeared in 27 games with 19 starts but was waived in 2021. Since then, he spent time with the Carolina Panthers and the Green Bay Packers.
In Carolina, he again found himself as a starter. He appeared in 11 games in 2021, starting 10 of them. He was moved to the bench in 2022 but still appeared in all 17 games as an experienced backup. However, he was unable to keep his job and was released in August of 2023. Jordan spent that season on the Packers' practice squad and is now trying to make it with the Patriots.
That won't be easy as he's buried behind Sidy Sow, Mike Onwnu, Layden Robinson, and Cole Strange when he returns to the active roster. They also have Nick Leverett who is able to play center and guard.
