5. JaMycal Hasty, RB

Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson have the top two running back spots on lockdown and for good reason. Stevenson has proven himself a capable back ever since being selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He enters this season with 2,265 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground and just signed a four-year extension worth $36 million.

Gibson was a third-round pick in 2020 who spent the first four years of his career in Washington. He was always a solid option as a receiving back and even had 1,037 yards on the ground in his second year. For some reason, the Commanders were determined to use Brian Robinson ahead of him, which led to Gibson's departure as he signed a three-year deal in New England.

Behind them, there was no clear-cut leader for RB3 until now. Undrafted rookie Terrell Jennings had the best night of all the backups, putting himself atop the list. That's bad news for the remaining two candidates — Kevin Harris and JaMycal Hasty who both struggled.

Harris at least had a touchdown but Hasty went for 10 yards on five rushing attempts. He did save some face with a 12-yard reception but overall wasn't impressive.

Hasty was claimed off waivers in 2023 and played two games for the Patriots. He returned four kickoffs but won't be used in that role unless there are a handful of injuries. That's why the 28-year-old could be in trouble of losing his spot on the roster.
