2. Second Round (54th Overall) via Dallas through Sacramento: Antonio Reeves, SG, Kentucky

Boston received this second round selection after moving down from no. 34 to no. 38 on last year's draft night. The C's ultimately took Jordan Walsh with the 38th overall pick.

After taking a court general in the first round, Boston adopts a more scoring-centric route in round two. Reeves is the man for that job. At 6'6", the 23-year-old averaged over 20 points per game at Kentucky, shooting over 50% from the field and 44.7% from three. Reeves was recognized by being named first-team All-SEC and a third-team All-American.

More on Reeves' game from Jordan Monaco of Sports Illustrated:

"Antonio Reeves has the potential to fulfill two major archetypes offensively: the dribble-pass-shoot archetype and the off-screen shooter archetype. Reeves is an excellent catch-and-shoot player with the ability to attack closeouts, shoot off the dribble, make the right play for teammates, finish at the rim, or draw a foul on drives. Simultaneously, Reeves can also apply these same skills to being an off-screen shooter."

One earlier ESPN mock draft had the Celtics selecting Bronny James with the 54th pick, presumably to follow Bill Simmons' scheme of drafting James and leverage him to other teams. The Lakers hold the 55th overall pick. That scenario would produce box-office fireworks, but it feels inconceivable.

Florida guard Zyon Pullin and UConn guard Tristen Newton are other names that have been thrown around as options for the Celtics here.
